Main Series

Battlefield 1942

September 10, 2002 was the release date.

13 Battlefield Video Games in Order of Release (Main Games List) in 2022

Battlefield 1942, the first game in the main series, succeeded to reinvent the first-person shooter genre by mixing well-known modes such as Death-Match and Capture the Flag into something unique.

Conquest was a battle between two teams vying for control of strategic sites scattered across the battlefield.

Battlefield 1942 is also the first game to feature the Battlefield class system, which lets players choose between roles such as Assault, Medic, Engineer, Anti-Tank, and Scout, each with their own special abilities.

In spite of the fact that the graphics and general visuals of the game are antiquated compared to recent releases, it was considered amazing at the time and would win multiple accolades.

Battlefield Vietnam

On March 14, 2004, it was made available.

The operating system is Windows.

It was the goal of Battlefield Vietnam to include new gameplay elements that allowed players to fly their vehicles onto the battlefield using large planes.

Passengers on war machines can now fire from the sides of the war machines as the driver drives around the map.

There were many new firearms, areas and vehicles inspired by the real Vietnam War that made the multiplayer experience much better than it had been before.

Visually, there have been some enhancements, but gameplay and multiplayer-based warfare have remained the primary focus.

Battlefield 2

the film was released on 21st June 2005

The operating system is Windows.

For example, the Medic in Battlefield 2 now has access to a defibrillator, making him a more useful class in terms of saving comrades’ lives.

Additionally, each squad was given a Leader and a Commander who could speak directly with one another to seek reinforcements, airstrikes, and supplies using the new feature of in-game voice chat.

These innovations laid the groundwork for the Battlefield formula going forward and are still present in the most recent games.

New additions brought a slew of issues for Battlefield 2, including glitches and bugs that were either fixed or still present in the game today.

Battlefield 2142

When is it coming out?

Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh

It borrows from classic sci-fi clichés while expanding the current ideals of Battlefield 2 with significantly faster combat and an even more powerful arsenal of overpowered weapons.

European Union and Pan-Asian Coalition are at war in the 22nd century, while the Earth is experiencing an Ice Age.

As part of the game’s “Titan” defensive multiplayer mode, players must use Anti-Titan missiles hidden in silos spread over the area to take out each other’s Titans.

Refinements to reward and promotion systems and a large number of new maps were also warmly appreciated by reviewers and fans.

Battlefield: Bad Company

Time: Wednesday, June 23, 2008 Date of Publication:

PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360

Battlefield: Bad Company’s single-player campaign is up there with the finest in the series, thanks to an engaging plot and a diverse cast of characters.

A group of mercenaries, led by Private Preston Marlowe, are attempting to take gold from a group of US soldiers.

In addition, a new multiplayer mode called Gold Rush was included in Bad Company, which pitted players against each other to protect or attack valuable Gold Crates.

Destructible environments and more complicated physics and visual effects were made possible by DICE’s new Frostbite engine.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2

March 2, 2010 was the release date.

A sequel to the critically acclaimed Battlefield: Bad Company was released by EA and DICE in the form of Battlefield: Bad Company 2, in which players assume the character of Private Preston Marlowe once more.

A dramatized depiction of World War II has Marlowe and his men facing the Russians in order to get a new-age weapon.

Conquest, Rush, Squad Rush, and Squad Deathmatch are only some of the game modes available in Bad Company 2’s online multiplayer.

Destructible physics, visuals, and sound effects in the campaign and online battles were enhanced by Frostbite engine enhancements.

Battlefield 3

Release Date: 25th of October, 2011

Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360

In terms of large-scale multiplayer content and graphics fidelity, Battlefield 3 ushers in a new era for the game.

The single-player game follows Henry Blackburn and Dimitri Mayakovski’s adventures as they travel across different locations and military roles.

There was a greater variety of weaponry, vehicles (most notably aircraft), and terrain for online multiplayer, which could accommodate up to 64 players at a time.

Improved graphics thanks to the Frostbite 2.0 engine ensure Battlefield 3 is still one of the series’ best-looking games, even after more than a decade of development.

Battlefield 4

On October 29, 2013, it was released.

Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One are all supported platforms.

Battlefield 4 expands on the vehicle warfare of Battlefield 3 with an enlarged roster of designated Stealth or Assault class fighter planes.

Frostbite 3.0’s new destructibility power allowed players to manipulate the physical aspects of the environment, such as collapsing skyscrapers to produce massive plumes of smoke and dust.

Battlefield 2’s Commander mode has been reintroduced, allowing players to better coordinate their attacks and develop new team strategies.

While Battlefield 3 suffered from several technical faults, mediocre single-player content, and even legal problems relating to the game’s release status, it nonetheless received favorable reviews and was a commercial success despite these difficulties.

Battlefield Hardline

March 17, 2015 was the release date.

Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One are all supported platforms.

Developed by Visceral Games instead of DICE, Battlefield Hardline deviated from the franchise’s military-centric model for the first time in the series.

Instead, the majority of the action takes place in the context of battles between elite police units and criminal gangs in such new game types as Heist, Blood Money, and Hotwire.

There were many positives and negative aspects to each, but lifelong fans with more ambitious ideas for the series didn’t like the core concept of cops vs. robbers.

Since Hardline got mixed reviews from divided critics and fans, the new features and adjustments were either applauded or decried by many.

Battlefield 1

Time: Tuesday, October 21

platforms: Windows, PS4, XBox One, and PS4

DICE would step in to work on the next game in the series, Battlefield 1, called for its historic wartime setting after the contentious fiasco that was Battlefield Hardline.

When playing “War Stories,” players are transported to WWI and follow the battles waged by soldiers on all the different fronts around the world.

New weaponry and vehicles, including poison gas, flamethrowers, bayonets, and mountable horses, were added to online multiplayer.

Improved aesthetics and a higher level of graphical fidelity would be possible thanks to the Frostbite 3.0 engine, one of the most popular and well-known in gaming.

Battlefield V

This film will be released on November 20, 2018.

platforms: Windows, PS4, XBox One, and PS4

Battlefield 1 marked a revival for the series, although that success would be short-lived when Battlefield V arrived.

Reminiscent of the War Stories campaign in Battlefield 1’s War Stories, the game returned to WWII for its setting and story.

It also had a new battle royale mode called Firestorm in addition to its predecessor’s Operations mode, which was recycled and renamed Grand Operations.

So, Battlefield V became yet another polarizing edition in the franchise, with many critics applauding its gameplay variety while fans took issue with the game’s historical inaccuracies and lack of creativity.

Battlefield 2042

October 22, 2021 is the release date.

Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox One X/S

In the latest Battlefield game, Frostbite’s ever-evolving engine provides a wealth of new features and flashy technology.

Players in Battlefield 2042 compete in a variety of game modes, including classics like Conquest and Breakthrough, as well as the co-op-focused Hazard Mode and an unannounced third.

Futuristic weapons and vehicles abound in this near-future setting, including deployable turrets, drones, and vehicles.

Additional features include a revamped class system that includes four distinct specializations: Assault, Engineer, Medic, and Recon.

Spin-off Games

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat

On October 24, 2005, it was released.

Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 2

In order to function smoothly on consoles with less powerful hardware, Electronic Arts created Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. This version of the game has a few important alterations from the PC version.

NATO and Chinese forces wage a fictional war in Kazakhstan, which is depicted in the game’s single-player campaign.

There are up to 24 players, 12 from each side, fighting for control over a variety of different maps in the online multiplayer edition of Conquest.

Clan support and graphical enhancements would be added to Modern Combat in the years leading up to its debut on the Xbox 360 in 2006.

Battlefield Heroes

June 25, 2009 was the release date of this title.

The operating system is Windows.

Free-to-play shooter Battlefield Heroes was built with cartoony looks evocative of recent games like Fortnite as a more humorous spin on the genre.

Even though it was taken down due to persistent controversy over its pay-to-win progression scheme, the game remains entirely online.

Premium cosmetics and EXP boosters were a common scourge amongst Heroes players, even though the majority of the game’s material was free to use.

4 maps and various weapons and vehicles inspired by past Battlefield games with a distinctive twist were included in this release.

Battlefield 1943

Publication date: 7/7/2009

PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360

With the single-player narrative removed and a stronger emphasis on online multiplayer, Battlefield 1943 is the upgraded version of 1942.

There are three classic 1942 maps, including Wake Island, Iwo Jima, and Guadalcanal, as well as a new one, the Coral Sea, which is only available in Air Superiority mode. All three of these 1942 maps are included in this release.

Conquest is the primary multiplayer mode, supporting up to 24 players and introducing new gameplay elements to set 1943 apart from its predecessors. Conquest

For starters, players had infinite ammo and health, and the game was a huge hit, becoming the top-selling Xbox Live Arcade game of 2009 for Microsoft.

Battlefield Online

Scheduled for release on the 25th of March, 2010

The operating system is Windows.

Neowiz Games, a South Korean developer, was hired by EA to produce Battlefield Online, a free-to-play online shooter aimed for the Eastern market.

With some minor visual tweaks, the game was essentially a re-release of Battlefield 2 using the Battlefield 2142 engine.

Despite a slew of glitches, Battlefield Online’s second beta test showed that it could accommodate up to 100 players in a single battle.

While Battlefield Online was losing steam, EA eventually decided to shut it down three years later in 2013, citing little interest in the Battlefield series outside the Western world.

Battlefield Play4Free

The 4th of April, 2011

The operating system is Windows.

As the last free-to-play Battlefield game developed by EA and DICE, Play4Free was a first-person shooter focused solely on multiplayer and featuring the Conquest mode as its centerpiece.

In addition to the weapons and maps from Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 2, the game had a progression system similar to Battlefield Heroes with permanent improvements to guns and armor.

Battlefunds can be won in-game through playing, but anyone who paid for them with real money had an advantage from the beginning.

Unlike Heroes, Battlefield Play4Free wouldn’t continue long, as EA will close its servers in 2015.

Battlefield 4 (2013)

Even though Battlefield 4’s single-player campaign garnered some negative feedback, the multiplayer version sold more than 7 million units.

Many players are drawn to the game because of its dynamism, intricate terrain, and eye-catching visuals. It doesn’t matter if the linear narrative lacks depth. Everyone knows that Battlefield is best experienced in a group of friends.

Expect more weapon modification possibilities and more vehicles to play with in the future. This time around, the story takes place in 2020 in case you haven’t played the prior games.

Even the most advanced jet aircraft are classified as either stealth or aggressive. Those who had great hopes for the single-player campaign, on the other hand, may be disappointed.

Battlefield: Hardline (Released 2015)

Battlefield: Hardline is often mentioned as an example of a game that took a radical shift. With criminals and the police, you go to war instead of going to war with a foreign country.

The player assumes the role of police officer Nick Mendoza during the single-player campaign. You and your companion fight crime on the street as well. Specifically, you target narcotics smugglers and their associates.

There are a number of police and criminal resources that can be tapped into, such as high-powered vehicles and lethal weaponry.

You can also do a lot of harm on the natural world. In spite of the fact that it didn’t earn the same acclaim as the prior books, it nevertheless had an impact on sales.

That being said, it’s worth noting that collaboration is still what binds the whole Battlefield franchise together.

Battlefield 1 (Released 2016)

Hardlines and Battlefield 4 failed to arouse the same level of enthusiasm among players as their predecessors.

Battlefield 1’s developers, on the other hand, appear to have rekindled the magic. In addition to enhancing the aesthetic appeal, the single-player game has six distinct characters. A World War One-era backdrop is provided for the story’s setting

There are a wide variety of multiplayer modes to choose from in this game. This isn’t all there is to it, though.

Distractions abound in the game’s setting, and the several classes you can choose from allow you to customize your character’s abilities. Some examples are horseback riding or operating a tank. The gameplay was particularly well received by the critics.

Battlefield V (Released 2018)

In this World War II edition, the creators opted to provide players with a plethora of characters to choose from. It’s possible that this title doesn’t live up to the others because more effort was put into generating realistic settings.

There’s no reason why gamers who prefer playing with others will be let down by this.

Firestorm and Grand Operations, two of Battlefield V’s most popular modes, earned the game excellent marks from critics.

Battlefield V Tides of War – Chapter 6: Into The Jungle (Released 2020)

Those searching for a close-quarters infantry fight on a lush island will enjoy this release.

The Solomon Islands are a challenging yet beautiful map, and you can use sea and land vehicles and a variety of deadly weapons to get around. Naturally, the more you play, the more features you’ll be able to access.

There are 16 different editions of one of the best first-person shooter games ever made. Some sequels didn’t work out and had to be shut down, but those that are still in existence are still worth your time.

Is Battlefield 1 or 5 better?

You’ll appreciate Battlefield 1 if you’re a fan of World War I or World War II history. As compared to Battlefield 5, the armament system here is significantly more realistic and less overpowering.

How many battlefields games are there?

With 11 games and 12 expansion packs released since 2002, the Battlefield series has been played by more than 50 million people globally since 2012. Teamwork and vehicle combat are heavily emphasized in the series.

Do people still play Battlefield 1?

At 7647, Battlefield 1’s player count is only 1400 fewer than that of its predecessor. When you consider that there were 28.2 million people on Steam simultaneously over the weekend, that’s a tiny difference. A 24-hour peak of little under 19,500 for Battlefield 5 is a long way ahead of its younger sibling.

There are 16 different editions of one of the best first-person shooter games ever made. Some sequels didn’t work out and had to be shut down, but those that are still in existence are still worth your time.
