Seeing the credits roll for God of War on PS4 might be difficult, knowing that you may not see Kratos and Atreus on fresh adventures for a long time to come.

We may speculate all day long about the prospect of a God of War 5 or God of War 2: The Re-Do or whatever they choose to call it, but in the meanwhile, there are a lot of amazing games out there.

In games like God of War, fighting is violent, backstory is plentiful, and players have even more rambunctious offspring to care for, making for a very immersive experience.

Our list of the finest games that mimic Kratos’ hack-and-slash style of gameplay and can be played on current-generation consoles and PCs is here.

This list will continue to grow as new entries are submitted. If you’re looking for additional game suggestions, take a look at these other well compiled lists:

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the most horrific game in the rebooted series, showing a darker and more aggressive Lara Croft than in prior games. It may not be the best game in the reboot, but it is the most brutal.

Legendary adventurer Indiana Jones is thrust into the tropical rainforest of Eidos Montréal’s action-adventure game, which has him attempting to stop a wicked group from unleashing an ancient Mayan apocalypse.

Those days of playing as an inexperienced Lara who was more concerned with avoiding conflict have been replaced with a more mature and confident Lara. With this new Lara, Trinity’s warriors can be killed with a variety of new weaponry, traps, traps and weapons.

With its focus on humanizing Lara Croft, God of War (2018) tries to humanize Kratos, whereas Shadow of the Tomb Raider portrays her as a terrifying predator.

Devil May Cry 5

PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Devil May Cry 5 retains the series’ basic gameplay while introducing a simplified score system for novices to the franchise. Playing as three demon-powered heroes, Dante, Nero, and V, the player must stop the Demon King Urizen from destroying the mortal realm in this hack and slash action game set five years after DMC 4.

Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition (Game)

DMC 5’s brutally rewarding fighting isn’t too far off from God of War’s brutally satisfying gameplay in 2018 and much more so in the older GOW titles.

Capcom’s latest offering is worth a go if you appreciate tearing apart your foes in unique ways and don’t mind playing as a demon prince rather than a Greek god.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

PS4, Xbox One, and PC

A new story and gameplay concept were introduced in 2017, however the series’ well-known fluidity and fluidity of movement were preserved. Assassin’s Creed: Origins was the catalyst for this revitalization.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was expected to build on the success of its predecessor, but it far exceeded everyone’s expectations. Realistic depictions of ancient Greece, which are right up Kratos’ alley, blur the boundary between realism and power fantasy even further.

Open-world game Ubisoft’s Grand Theft Auto V introduces more showy executions and fatal play styles to its combat system.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice

PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Unlike other action games, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice isn’t a typical platformer. A warrior on a quest to save her dead lover’s soul from the underworld while suffering with the terrible mental illness she thinks to be a curse called “the Darkness” was developed and self-published by video game gurus Ninja Theory.

Kratos’ personal battles with mental health and PTSD derive from his years of fighting mortals, the gods of Olympus, and himself. This is evocative of this.

Many gamers were pleased to see that Hellblade takes inspiration from genuine Vikings and incorporates Norse mythology into the story, much like the latest God of War game did.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

According to critics, The Witcher 3’s characters and story are well-developed, and the expansive open world is a wonderful backdrop for the action-packed adventure.

You take on the role of Geralt of Rivia, a similarly grizzled and moody male protagonist like Kratos who is adept at both battle and dealing with his own past.

Geralt’s magical powers can be used in addition to his two swords, but they pale in comparison to Kratos’ godlike powers that flow through his body.

In contrast, hunting for rare and very expensive monsters is where The Witcher 3 truly shines, with numerous confrontations that feel as dramatic and high stakes as fighting the Valkyries in God of War

Darksiders III

PS4, Xbox One, and PC

The latest Darksiders game has a striking resemblance to the God of War series.

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to control War and Death’s sisters, you’ll get your chance in Darksiders III. As in God of War III, Kratos’ quest to eliminate all of the remaining Greek deities has been re-imagined as the Seven Deadly Sins’ mission.

Additionally, Fury has the ability to take on many elemental forms, which increase her powers and offer her access to new tactics.

For fans of the original GOW trilogy seeking for a new game to play, look no further than here.

The Last of Us: Remastered

PlayStation 4

Comparing God of War by Santa Monica Studio and The Last of Us by Naughty Dog reveals startling parallels. As a starting point, both films feature an emotionally damaged male hero who must protect and teach a youngster how to survive in an unforgiving environment.

Perhaps even to the point where we could claim that Ellie and Atreus have obnoxious personalities, but that’s a personal preference.

However, TLOU’s captivating story and zombie-infested atmosphere are more than enough to keep you interested from beginning to end, even if the game does not feature any deities or severe melee fighting.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne

PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Until Capcom opted to focus on improving the series’ various systems to appeal to Western audiences, Monster Hunter games have traditionally appealed to a much smaller population.

Iceborne builds on Monster Hunter: World’s foundation by offering new game-changing tools and strategies, as well as additional quality of life upgrades.

Mounting and fighting monsters has been made considerably more accessible thanks to the Clutch Claw’s arrival, as well as new attacks for each of the 14 weapon types in the game.

As in 2018’s God of War, players can explore six separate ecosystems, each with its own distinct personality, in Iceborne.

Ryse: Son of Rome

Xbox One and PC are supported.

There was a lot to like about Ryse: Son of Rome as an Xbox One launch title. Unfortunately, the profusion of quick-time event fighting mini-games and other flaws resulted in a visually attractive game with uninspired hack n’ slash combat.

Although it depicts an alternate Rome and a troubled protagonist in his mission to avenge his family’s murder, it’s on par with God of War.

You take on the role of Marius Titus, a Roman commander who is attempting to come to terms with the loss of his family while battling both on and off the battlefield.

Roman centurion’s life is depicted as a journey from inexperienced soldier to powerful commander, coupled with the various physical and psychological wounds he suffers.

Bloodborne

PlayStation 4

Just like the previous Souls games, FromSoftware’s follow-up to the series is just as hard and more fluid than ever. While the combat in Bloodborne is evocative of God of War, it maintains the high level of difficulty that the company is known for bringing into previous games.

You’ll fight in landscapes reminiscent of the Victorian era, complete with crumbling buildings and decaying weapons and armor.

Bloodborne™

The game does an excellent job of luring players into an uncomfortable environment where the only way to avoid a threat is to kill it before it kills you.

Nioh

PlayStation 4 and PC

As a fan of the original God of War plot, you may want to check out the action RPG Nioh, which takes place in Japan during the latter days of the Sengoku period.

Players assume control of William, an Irish sailor who travels to a parallel year 1600 and encounters mystical sorcerers and mythical monsters known as yokai.

As a “Soulslike” game, Nioh contains a combat system based on stamina management and weapon postures that can be used in a variety of ways.

The magnitude of the enemies in Nioh is reminiscent of the God of War games’ gigantic creatures, which are commonly encountered by players.

Bayonetta 2

Switch as a platform

Fast-paced, combo-based fighting in the Bayonetta titles is as stylish as hack-and-slash games get, allowing you to combine melee and gunplay to destroy a variety of angelic and demonic adversaries.

When the main character successfully dodges a blow, her ‘Witch Time’ skill slows down time, allowing her to chain together powerful attacks that deal massive damage.

It’s impressive how well Bayonetta 2 balances action with quality of life enhancements. Unique foes and an impressive cast of characters make it a worthy rival to God of War, even if its lore can be a little difficult to follow at times.

Alice: Madness Returns

PC is the system I use.

However, Alice: Madness Returns remains a solid action game that can be played on PC and the previous generation of consoles, even if it will never get a full sequel or remaster.

American McGee’s Alice: The Second Adventure takes place in a darker Wonderland filled with terrible monsters and psychological terrors.

When it comes to weaponry, Disney princesses may wield the Vorpal Blade (a decorative kitchen knife), as well as the Pig-Snout-Powered Gatling Gun known as the Pepper Grinder, in a whole new light.

Alice: Madness Returns is more in line with God of War than any of Disney’s licensed games, thanks to a shocking amount of blood and gore and difficult adversaries and riddles.

Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows (68)

An open-world superhero game being compared to God Of War is a strange comparison, especially when the superhero in question is the kid-friendly Spider-Man. God of War’s classic formula is adapted to the pattern given by Spider-Man 2 in Spider-Man: Web of Shadows.

In spite of problems, sluggish performance and a lackluster story, the combat is a standout feature of the game. Gamers can swap between the traditional red and blue suit, as well as GOW’s symbiote suit, whenever they want. The combos they can perform are also compatible with the game. Using the symbiotic flails, you might as well be wielding the Blades of Chaos. Despite the loss of Kratos’ brutality, the fighting is still a lot of fun.

Conan (69)

Although there haven’t been many games based on Conan The Barbarian, the God Of War model makes him a logical fit for the Xbox 360 and PS3 version of Conan The Barbarian.

As a GOW clone, it’s about as standard as you can get. With a quick-time event finisher, you battle your way through the game’s linear levels, beating your adversaries and gaining experience points to upgrade your techniques. Fans of the character will have a good time even if the game doesn’t offer anything new.

Ninja Blade (69)

Though this Xbox 360 exclusive from the same studio that would go on to create the Dark Souls series has long since been lost to history, it was a notable Microsoft Xbox 360 exclusive back in 2009. Is it worth the money? There’s a lot of variety here.

Even God of War couldn’t compete with the game’s heavy reliance on quick-time events, which are used to great effect here. Big combinations against gigantic opponents can still be achieved with a variety of weapons. Even though this is a game that is more entertaining to watch than it is to play, gamers will have an enjoyable time anyway.

Dante’s Inferno (75)

God of War’s gameplay, gore, and battle were taken from Dante’s Inferno with Christian figures replacing the Greek pantheon. In the end, this isn’t a bad thing at all. When you’re slicing and dicing your way through the ranks of Hell’s demons, you’re certain to feel like a holy warrior at some point.

Reimagined as a Crusader knight, Dante Alighieri must journey into the nine circles of Hell to rescue Beatrice from the clutches of Satan himself in this game. Surely this is going to be a memorable experience?

Alice: Madness Returns (75)

American McGee’s Alice, a dark fantasy action-platformer inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, is well-known. A tenfold increase in action is present in its sequel. In the face of a poisonous and malicious presence, Alice must return to face the devilish evil before her world and her mind are shattered like a looking-glass.

Alice is far from unarmed when she enters this fight. She’s got a formidable armory of weaponry at her disposal. You’ll have a lot of fun with the Vorpal Blade and the Hatter’s Eye Pot, no matter how you use them.

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks (78)

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, which came out just six months after God of War, is the only Mortal Kombat spin-off that deserves acclaim.

Shaolin Monks, in contrast to the other games on this list, supports local multiplayer, allowing you to play the campaign with a friend. Mortal Kombat 2’s reworked storyline sees you battling henchmen and major characters like Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung. Combat and plot are not as complex as GOW, but there are still plenty of ways to build up big combos and execute nasty finishers on your enemies.

Heavenly Sword (79)

Heavenly Sword’s fighting is virtually identical to that of God of War, but it’s executed better. In the vein of Conan the Barbarian and Akira Kurosawa, Andy Serkis plays the major villain in Heavenly Sword, a film that doesn’t disappoint in any way.

With her dance-like fighting style and strong bond with her blade, Nariko is an excellent character to use to wreak havoc on hordes of adversaries. Despite the fact that it isn’t the most original title on our list, this action-packed hack-and-slash is nonetheless worth checking out.

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance (80)

You probably think of a military-themed stealth shooter or action title when you hear the word Metal Gear, right? There’s a lot of camouflage, takedowns, and protagonists wearing eye patches. Most likely, you don’t have mental images of cyborg ninjas, monstrous mechs, or samurai swords. In Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, this is not the case.

Metal Gear Rising gây ức chế cho game thủ PC

Players assume the role of Raiden, wielding a sword to wreak havoc on hordes of opponents and bosses with devastating combos and breathtaking swordplay. You may carve up your enemies like a Thanksgiving turkey with the slashing mechanic in this game. It’s well worth at least two attempts.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice (81)

On our list, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice stands out as one of the more spooky and lore-heavy games, taking more than a few pages from God of War. Story-heavy presentation and brutal hack-and-slash combat are what genuinely entice us to this title, along with the Norse mythology elements.

Not your standard button-masher or violent brawler, Senua’s Sacrifice isn’t. It’s an experience that deals with psychosis, loss, and beauty at times. The game’s emphasis on narrative rather than slicing has earned it a place on ours and many other people’s best games of all time charts.

Darksiders (82)

Darksiders is clearly influenced by God of War, but its over-the-top comic book graphic style distinguishes it from Kratos. This gloomy fantasy game may contain comparable combos and combat, but we have a special place in our hearts for it.

On his journey to salvation, the horseman of war must fight against the forces of both Heaven and Hell, leaving behind some severed limbs and bloodstains. It’s a gory marriage of gameplay with something for every action-adventure lover, with its God of War-inspired combat and Zelda-inspired puzzles and dungeons.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (83)

While the Ninja Gaiden series and GOW are often compared to one another, their gameplay is very different. The Ninja Gaiden series, on the other hand, is noted for its intricate combat, which may be punishing to rookie players who don’t pay attention to their defense. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, on the other hand, is the Ninja Gaiden game that plays the closest to God of War.

Tecmo’s latest game ditches the previous game’s exploration and puzzle-solving features in favor of more violent and spectacular fighting. Techniques that are similar to GOW finishers without the QTEs are introduced. “Obliteration” With a more aggressive approach like GOW, this Ninja Gaiden is an incredible show for gamers.

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey (83)

It’s hard not to immediately think of God of War whenever an action-packed video game draws inspiration from Greek mythology. There’s no getting around the fact that Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey follows suit. Even while it’s a more in-depth and story-driven game than God of War, the gameplay and graphics are very comparable.

In spite of the fact that this game has a big open world, acrobatic exploration, and normal stealth gameplay, it has a God of War feel with its combat and ancient Greek backdrop. If you’re looking for a little more depth in your Greek epic, consider picking up this title.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (85)

Playing Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is one of the best games on the Playstation 3 because it incorporates everything you love about hack’n’slash into a gothic epic, and it’s all done in a style inspired by Guillermo Del Toro’s work.

Lords of Shadow is unlike anything else in the Castlevania series, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be considered something special. Gabriel Belmont could certainly compete with our hero Kratos in terms of action-packed combat, creatures galore, and jaw-dropping boss confrontations.

DMC: Devil May Cry (85)

This ultraviolent recreation of the original Devil May Cry from Ninja Theory has more in common with the God of War series than you would think. Dante has a lot more attitude and weapons than the Ghost of Sparta, but their hunger for blood is nearly identical.

A far cry from the suave and confident Dante of old, this reboot of Dante is as entertaining as any hack-and-slash game can be. Play through hordes of monsters and rack up powerful combinations in this amazing game.

Bayonetta (90)

In spite of being on the other side of the angel/demonic divide, Bayonetta is the only one on our list who might be considered not only Dante’s equal, but Kratos’ as well.. However, it’s more pleasing to the eye. It’s easy to see why Bayonetta is our favorite character when you consider her powerful spells, over-the-top combinations, and vicious gunplay.

Bayonetta: Bayonetta 3 đã xuất hiện, tuy nhiên game thủ PC, PS sẽ phải buồn lòng | GameK

Bayonetta’s hair and stilettos make life difficult for a bevy of celestial beings who find themselves in her path. Even if she’s not as as gruesome as some of Kratos’s work, this baddest witch in town is still a lot of fun to play.
