We’ve established that Dishonored is an action-adventure game; while it does feature role-playing game elements and give the player some control, it really comes into its own when played with a stealth focus. Dishonored is the epitome of a well-executed stealth sandbox thanks to its non-linear level design, high mobility, and abundance of gadgets and magical abilities.
Dishonored has a similar “vibe” to Bloodlines, despite not being a full-fledged role-playing game, thanks to its dark setting, its focus on a large conspiracy, and its heavy use of occult and Lovecraftian themes. Fans of action games, and stealth games in particular, are likely to enjoy it.
In addition, Dishonored 2 and Dishonored: Death of the Outsider have been released as sequels to the original game. If the style and mechanics of the first game appealed to you, there is more to come.
