Any first-person shooter fan worth their salt will want top-notch PC performance. However, players will need to go above and beyond to play on maximum settings without experiencing frame rate spikes.
Although a mid-range PC should suffice for casual play, serious first-person shooter players will benefit greatly from a fully-loaded machine. A mid-range computer will struggle to play the game smoothly at maximum settings, and won’t even be able to run it at all if you want to experiment with FHD or 4k resolutions.
To get the most out of this visually demanding first-person shooter, you should budget at least $1,200 for a powerful personal computer. However, the higher the performance, the higher the resolution can be turned up, so the limit is the sky.
Some low-end computers may be able to run the game on the lowest settings, but we don’t advise it. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare kicks off our top ten. When it came out in 2016, this game was hailed as one of the most futuristic ever made. In the single-player mode, the conflict takes place in space. Instead, we were engaged in a space battle. It was refreshing to see things speed up a bit. The overall execution was engaging enough to keep people engaged with the story mode all the way to its conclusion. Reviewing the multiplayer component, it’s clear that this is one of the Call of Duty games where players have complained about too much action during matches. The game’s focus on jetpacks and fast movement makes it difficult to rank Infinite Warfare among the series’ best entries.
17. Call of Duty 3

Next, we have Treyarch’s first entry into the franchise, the final installment of the original Call of Duty series, and the polar opposite of the jetpack era of Call of Duty. Call of Duty 3 fell short because it never felt finished. The fact that this was the first Call of Duty game to not be released on PC certainly didn’t help matters. It was the first time in the series that fans felt let down, and it marked the beginning of the annual releases of Call of Duty.

When the Xbox One and PS4 were released that holiday season, Call of Duty: Ghosts was the first game in the series to run on the new hardware. The story mode immerses you in a fictional world where North and South America are at war, allowing you to feel the world’s despair and isolation firsthand. The game’s story mode is fairly compelling, but it falls short when compared to other Call of Duty titles. It’s also arguable whether or not Ghosts has the best multiplayer. There seems to be some debate among the players as to whether or not they had fun. It was the last boots-on-the-ground game for a while, and it was a fun search and destroy game but not much else.

Multiplayer matches in the series finally had access to weapons like the tempest and the grapple gun. It was an entertaining idea, and Treyarch did a great job refining it for their most recent game. It should therefore not be shocking to learn that Call of Duty: Black Ops III ranks so low on this list.
13. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Another entry on this list that isn’t terrible but is disappointing because of Modern Warfare 3’s release. The Modern Warfare saga came to a satisfying conclusion with this game. All of the story mode’s revelations and resolutions to lingering questions from Modern Warfare 2 keep things interesting. It was satisfying to see some thorny plot points resolved and certain characters given their due. Also, if we were only considering story modes, this game wouldn’t be near the bottom of the heap. When it comes to the multiplayer mode, Modern Warfare 3 didn’t do anything particularly innovative to push the Call of Duty series forward. The only noteworthy change was the elimination of killstreaks in favor of point streaks. It depends on who you ask, but this could have gone either way.
12. Call of Duty: WW2

We struggled mightily with the question of whether or not to place Call of Duty: World War 2 below World at War. Call of Duty: WW2 was the first game in the series since the jetpack games. Players have long requested more titles centered on World War II. The game’s single-player mode is the main attraction. Your first mission is the famous D-Day invasion. The cinematic world they created for this game is on full display from that vantage point. The game features some of the best dialogue and cutscenes in the series throughout its narrative. You should go back and play it because the story mode is interesting and the missions are well designed. You might want to keep looking for a good World War II campaign. Some of the maps are way too big for actual foot soldiers to cover, but the multiplayer was passable.
11. Call of Duty 2

Call of Duty 2 marked the series’ first foray into dedicated console gameplay. Call of Duty 2 was a launch title for the Xbox 360 in 2005, and it quickly became a fan favorite. This was likely many players’ first experience with the series, so it was executed well, especially considering the time period. Although Call of Duty 2 will always be regarded as the best in the series by some fans, its place on this list is temporary.

How the story develops in the next Modern Warfare will be fascinating to follow. Now let’s talk about the multiplayer mode, where we see some of the best additions to the series, like 2v2 Gunfight and massive Ground War matches. However, the multiplayer maps have been the main source of player complaints. Fans were dismayed to see that the launch maps were vastly inferior to those of previous Call of Duty games. The question of how high we can place Modern Warfare on our lists is still open for discussion. But we think this is a good place to be for the time being.
9. Call of Duty: World at War

The World War II campaign in Treyarch’s second entry is among the series’ best. The show took a risk by diverging from the standard formula, which follows the Americans across the European theater, and instead thrust viewers into the brutal Pacific War alongside a Russian narrative. Fans were captivated by the story’s many twists and turns as they followed different soldiers throughout the game. The game’s graphics and level of gore were also unprecedented. Due to Treyarch’s novel approach to the series’ storytelling and groundbreaking visual design, this game was regarded as one of the series’ darker entries. Despite being the first Call of Duty game without a story mode, Treyarch’s latest entry in the series was a huge improvement over the previous Black Ops game. Treyarch ditched the single-player mode in favor of the trending Battle Royale mode. Blackout is a great mode in its own right, and it’s still widely used by players today. The developers took a huge chance, and it paid off. The game’s online component was also a major improvement for the series. There was a greater focus on the actual gunfights and less on the movement. For online play, they also altered the health system. The franchise benefited from the change in focus from regeneration to the use of stim items.
7. Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War

Fans have made up their minds about the latest installment in the main series of Call of Duty games, and it’s been out for a few months. Treyarch has released the newest Black Ops game, titled Cold War. If you’re familiar with the studio at all, you know that their multiplayer and zombies modes are their forte. This year, the latter is back in full force, and two zombies maps have already been released. Both Die Maschine and Firebase Z are a throwback to the classic zombie gameplay from the first few Call of Duty games. The boss fights and hidden easter eggs in these maps are awesome. We anticipate more maps to be released throughout the year, and we can’t wait for the story to reach its conclusion.
Moving on, feedback from players suggests that Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer mode is a mixed bag. Some have said that Cold War’s most significant flaw is that it doesn’t include any maps. Treyarch has a reputation for releasing some of the best multiplayer maps in the series, such as Black Ops 2’s Raid and Standoff. It was disappointing, then, to see some of Cold War’s maps fall short in this regard. Black Ops Cold War features some of the best weapon feedback seen in recent games, and its gunplay is something that simply cannot be overlooked.
We feel confident placing Black Ops Cold War at number 7 on our list, despite the fact that it is still early in the game’s cycle.

The original Call of Duty video game that started it all. When it came out in 2003 for the PC, it was a huge deal. Call of Duty was one of the first first-person shooters, and its influence could be felt even today. There was never a feeling of repetition with the allied forces’ missions because they were all distinct. The health bar, immersive sound design, and well-made weapons were just a few of Activision’s innovations that immediately raised the bar for the series upon release. The money system used to unlock items was another clever addition by Treyarch. Black Ops is, in general, one of the best Call of Duty games ever made.
4. Call of Duty Warzone

The success of Call of Duty’s battle royale mode, Warzone, has propelled the series to new heights in recent years. Released in March of 2020, just as the pandemic was beginning to affect people around the world, the game has quickly risen to prominence as one of the best battle royales ever made. Plus, Activision-Blizzard is committed to bringing the game to its full potential, so development work on it is ongoing.
Activision-Blizzard has spent the past year trying out a wide variety of game modes, as the standard map, Verdansk, can grow stale due to its enormity. The mini-map of Rebirth Island has been one of the most useful tools in Warzone. The game is incredible despite the fact that it has some serious flaws. Warzone has enormous potential to succeed if Activision-Blizzard can eliminate the game’s current epidemic of hacking and cheating.
We can’t wait to see what the next year brings for the game. There are high hopes for Call of Duty: Warzone in 2021 due to rumors of a brand new map dropping soon.
3. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

The next game on our list, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, is one of the most polarizing because it is also one of the most acclaimed entries in the series. At the time, it was the series’ finest installment. It was the first time they deviated from the World War II motif and incorporated postwar ideas. Some of the series’ most iconic characters made their debut here as well, including fan favorite Captain Price, who remains a mainstay of modern Call of Duty games. The game’s multiplayer mode was also a game-changer, with iconic maps like Crash and Shipment that had never appeared in the series before. Among the best first-person shooters (FPS) ever made, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare ranks among the very best.
2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Everything that made the original Modern Warfare so great has been improved upon in the sequel. Moving on to the online component, Modern Warfare 2 had better maps than the first game and a more satisfying experience overall. The reworked weapons and abilities also had a fantastic feel. There was a wide variety of weapons, each with its own strengths and weaknesses, and never a dull moment in Modern Warfare 2. The Modern Warfare series is one of the rare exceptions to the rule of polarizing fan opinion.

The Pick-10 system gave players the opportunity to strategically select their classes in order to test out different combinations and obtain better gear. Black Ops 2 features the best gameplay in the series. The game’s single most compelling feature is its multiplayer mode. Black Ops 2 is the only Call of Duty game that has ever lived up to expectations. That’s why Black Ops 2 is the best Call of Duty game ever made.

Step 1: If you want to use Bluetooth, make sure you have access to the necessary equipment.
Step 2: Once your controller is connected, go to the right side of the screen and select Key Mapping using Gameloop. Gamepad, not Keyboard, must be chosen. Finally, double-check that your chosen approach is the right one. This could be a Multiplayer, Battle Royale, Outdoor, or Indoor (OB/Bar) setting.

After this fourth step, you can begin mapping buttons with the mouse. Right-click the screen to proceed. In its place, a blank option will appear. Any button on the controller can then be assigned to a specific action in the game.
Fifth, keep mapping until you’ve set up all the input controls. You don’t have to map every button, but you should double-check that you’ve mapped the ones that matter, like aiming, shooting, reloading, and jumping.
Sixth, when you’re done, click the Save button at the very bottom right. The next step is to load a game and check the ping.
