When you dive into the ocean and capture a Scallop item while diving, Pascal will appear out of the water! Even if you locate multiple Scallops in a day, you can only meet Pascal once. Your island is off-limits to players.
In order to find Scallops, you’ll have to dive into the ocean and look for them as a Sea Creature. They’re also available all year round, even if it isn’t summertime.
How To Get Mermaid Set DIY Crafting Recipes & Items
In exchange for your priceless Scallop, you can usually expect Pascal to give you either a random DIY Crafting Recipe or a random piece of apparel from the Mermaid Set, however Pearls are also possible. Scroll down to see all of the DIY Recipes you’ll need to get started making Mermaid-themed goods.
Each of these recipes for Mermaid Furniture Sets calls for at least one Pearl and a variety of shells collected from the beaches of your island. Iron Nuggets or Stone may also be needed for some of these.
How To Find & Get Pearls
The DIY Workbench is required to make at least 1-3 Pearls for each piece of the Mermaid Furniture Set. Like sea creatures, you can look for these elusive Pearls while swimming or scuba diving in the ocean. When Pascal is feeling very generous, he may even exchange a Pearl for a Scallop. Here’s our whole guide to Pearls!
The Museum and Critterpedia do not accept pearls because they don’t fit the definition of a Sea Creature.
Timmy and Tommy at Nook’s Cranny will take 10,000 Bells for each pearl, however we strongly advise saving at least 20 Pearls because that is the minimum number needed to make all of the Mermaid goods.
