Brave Frontier Heroes is playable on iOS, Android, and web browsers. While the game itself is free to play, a monthly prime membership is required to use the experience exchange and costs either 0.035 ETH via Metamask or $4.99 USD using a credit card.

A-Tier

These essential units are top-notch at what they do best, and some stand out as exceptional “jack-of-all-trades” candidates.

In addition to your S-rank units, these lower-tier units are crucial to your party’s success and should be prioritized in training.

Notes:

N’an-Wang-Mu has been one of the more contentious newcomers to A-Tier. But she’s more adaptable and can serve a similar purpose as Svalinn.

B-Tier

While effective in their designated roles, these units have weaknesses that could compromise your party’s cohesiveness as a whole.

These problems may manifest as slow-moving stat growth or a set of skills that is highly context-dependent. Even though they’re worth the effort of raising, they’ll never reach the A-level because of their average development.

Since you never know what you’ll get from a given summon in Brave Frontier, having a selection of B-tier units allows you to better prepare for the late game.

They’re best used in conjunction with other, stronger units, but their niche application doesn’t diminish their value.

Notes:

To everyone’s surprise, the not-terrible Brigadier Buck has joined the game. Although his damage is less than that of a premium unit with triple attack, he is still useful to have around if you happen to summon him.

C-Tier

We’ve made it to the cream of the crop! While these units will see you through the majority of the game’s PvE content, you shouldn’t take them into the Arena or the Colosseum expecting to win.

If you have terrible luck summoning higher-level units, you may want to consider increasing these. These can get you through the bulk of the game, but their stats have simply fallen off the meta, so they won’t be as effective in high-level quests or special events.

D-Tier

Only if you plan to use these units in a specific way should you include them in your roster. Overall, they wouldn’t be able to shine in any typical party setup anyway, so it’s important to weigh the benefits of raising them against the costs.

Most of the time, you should pass on these because there are superior units already available.

Unfortunately, power creep can affect even D-Tier units. After the updates in May of 2021, Asto will now be classified as an F-Tier ship.

Some Insights On The List

The fact that S and F have the fewest units in each tier is quite intriguing.

This highlights the core of the gameplay loop in Brave Frontier, which is a balanced amount of luck. It’s great when you summon a powerful unit, but it’s just as frustrating when you get a lowly one.

Because of how infrequent they are, every time you summon, you’ll feel an extra sense of anticipation.

The fact that there are twice as many units in tier A as in tier S demonstrates that Brave Frontier is designed to keep the player wanting more by tipping the scales in the player’s favor.

It’s true that you can win easily with A-tier units, but have you ever wondered how it would feel to have a party of S-tiers at your disposal?

Brave Frontier’s appeal comes from the game’s satisfying feedback loop. It won’t overwhelm you with powerful units right away, but it won’t leave you feeling hopeless either.

Methodology

There may be some newer units (and a few seasonal ones) that didn’t make the cut because this list is in line with the 2022 meta and base summoning pool.

Monsters, items, and units that are too weak to be invested in when building an end-game party have been left off this tier list because they have no place in it.

How does play to earn work within Brave Frontier Heroes?

Originals are collectible NFTs that can be traded on NFT marketplaces like Opensea and Auctonicity, while replicas can only be found within the game’s ecosystem.

What is ZEL?

In Brave Frontier Heroes, ZEL serves as the in-game currency. There are currently no cryptocurrency exchanges where you can buy or sell ZEL because it is not a cryptocurrency. Its sole purpose is to serve as a medium of exchange within Brave Frontier Heroes, the video game.

Where can I buy ZEL?

In-game Ethereum can be used to purchase ZEL or to liquidate assets in the EXP market. There are 10,000 ZEL in one ETH.

Keep in mind that since ZEL is not an ERC-20 token, it cannot be converted back to ETH once it has been acquired.

How to play Brave Frontier Heroes

Units

You begin with a small number of units, but these can be upgraded with ZEL. Every single one of them is special and has its own picture and data. Keep in mind that you can only trade them amongst the players on the marketplace, and not with anyone outside of the game.

There are a total of six types of units, each with their own maximum level:

• Superb – Maximum level 100
• Maximum level 90, epic!
• Uncommon – Level Limit of 80
• Extremely Rare – Level Capped at 70
• Level cap of 60, widely accepted
• Beginner: Maximum level 40

Quests

In this single-player mode, your units will face off against monsters in an effort to earn experience and, hopefully, spheres.

Arena

Here, you can face off against other players in head-to-head contests.

Player matches allow you to set up private or public matches to fight friends or random users, while title matches are organized by the Brave Frontier Heroes staff.

Assets

Keeping track of your assets is essential, especially when dealing with the many different types that can confuse first-time users.

All of this data can be found in one place in the assets menu.

Keep an eye on the composition tab; that’s where you’ll put those spheres you’ve been saving up for.

Marketplace

If it’s the NFT rather than the RPG aspects of Brave Frontier Heroes that piques your interest, this is the place to be. Here you can buy units and experience.

The stall has 4 buttons:

• Summon.  You can purchase brand-new models here. There is a time constraint on the availability of each of these items.
• Prime.  The full experience, including expedited access to unit sales, increased experience gains from quests, and discounts on exporting and minting NFTs, is available for a monthly subscription fee.
• Expenditure swap. Here you can purchase experience points for your units and unload your stockpile of replica spheres. The currency used in both of these deals is ZEL.
• Trade.  In this market, players can exchange ZEL for units and unique spheres created by other players.
